John’s Must-Eats at Mallard Cottage
Built in the 18th century, Mallard Cottage is one of North America’s oldest wooden structures today. A welcoming atmosphere indoors and out, the menu relies on local ingredients and a mix of outdoor and indoor cooking to serve up dishes such as Braised Beef Flatbread, Salt Cod Fishcakes, the Pit Platter and Blueberry Trifle.

Where to Go
John visits the village of Quidi Vidi, a neighbourhood in St. John’s that is nestled in the harbour known as The Gut. The village is filled with small shops, batteries and fishing houses as well as Christ Church, built in 1834.
When to Visit
While St. John’s welcomes visitors in all seasons, the summer months are the warmest with the least amount of rain.

Rent a car and drive around the island to see the beautiful scenery. It’s breathtaking!
