What other baking competition uses the expertise of a cake decorator, a candy maker’s imagination, and a pumpkin carver’s skills to create some of the most jaw-dropping edible creations around? That’s right, Halloween Wars is back for its 12th season and with it are nine new trios hoping to prove they have what it takes to win the title and the grand prize. Read on to learn more about the teams competing in this season of the show.
Team Whisk Craft
This creative trio features cake guru Shannon Davie, a stay-at-home mom who hopes to open her own shop one day. She’s joined by Bunny’s Bakery owner and sugar master Brooke Taylor, along with seasoned pumpkin-carver Chad Gainey, who previously appeared in Seasons 6 and 10.

Team Ghostly Gals
If you don’t yet know pumpkin carver Monique Hawk, sugar expert Susan Mijares and baker Janira Green for their yummy treats, you’ll certainly recognize them for their creative headwear. If Mijares looks familiar, that’s because she previously appeared on Best Baker in America. Hawk, meanwhile, was once a competitive bikini bodybuilder and has a strong history in the fitness industry.

Team Lollipop Lunatics
This team of sugar- and Halloween-loving contestants consists of Beverly Hansen on the sugar work, Willy Tuz on pumpkin carving duty, and Jamie Louks on the bake. Louks will be a strong leader as the owner of Seattle-based Sugarnova and a previous winner of the HBO series Baketopia. However, Hansen also has her own shop, while Tuz has lots of experience thanks to his former appearance on Outrageous Pumpkins.

Team Eerie Eats
Baker Andrea Vacek and sugar artist Cesar Barachina join carver Anthony Pater on this team. Pater, who is all about embracing the weird and unexpected through his work as an animation student, adds creative youthfulness to this team with seasoned experience.

Team Mixin Vixens
Mom and Sweet Temper owner Marianne Daquino is the sugar artist heading up this pretty-in-pink girl gang, which also features the talents of baker Brittani Diehl and pumpkin carver Jennifer Hoskins.

On this team, it’s Judi Dadtka who works on the cake elements, William Wilson who handles the pumpkin work, and Elizabeth Harkness who oversees all things sugar.

Team Pastry Pirates
Julia Jankowski is the pumpkin carver on this team, bringing her experience as an art curator to the table. Sugar artist Tammy Varela, who runs a home-based cake studio, and cake guru Rodolfo Goncalves, who was previously on the series Baking Impossible, are also on board.

We feel that baker Reggie Harris, sugar artist Hannah Smith, and pumpkin carver Jannet Michael (who can also carve up a pretty fruit arrangement as needed) appreciate a delicious concoction as much as they do a good pun.

This team consists of Joey Lopez, a baker and The Cake Stash owner, carver and occasional actor Brent Heuser, and sugar artist Pege Yates, who is all about edible glitter. It’s safe to say this trio seems here for business — candy-corn-killing business.
