What are the Wicked drinks at Starbucks?
To celebrate the premiere of Wicked, Starbucks has released two new cold drinks inspired by the movie’s main characters. Ariana Grande’s character inspires Glinda’s Pink Potion and Elphaba’s Cold Brew, which is inspired by Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba. The colourful green and pink drinks represent the classic green and pink worn by Elphaba and Glinda in the film. There is no doubt that these drinks are super photo-worthy. But how do they taste?

Elphaba’s Cold Brew
Elphaba’s Cold Brew might have a witchy look to it, but it is oh so delicious. It is a cold brew sweetened with peppermint-flavoured syrup. It is then topped with a non-dairy matcha cold foam and green candy sprinkles. This drink tastes exactly like a peppermint mocha. So, if you’re missing Starbucks holiday drinks, this will satisfy your craving. We find that sometimes cold brew can have a very intense coffee flavour, but that is not the case with this drink. We think it’s thanks to the non-dairy matcha cold foam, which balances out that intensity. The matcha flavour is not super present, but the green colour is very evident in the cold foam. Our recommendation for enjoying this cold brew is to let it sit for a few minutes so the cold foam melts. It then mixes beautifully into the cold brew for a delicious, minty, smooth sip. It will have you feeling like you’re “Defying Gravity.”
Glinda’s Pink Potion
Glinda’s Pink Potion is the definition of a pink drink. It is a Mango Dragonfruit Refresher shaken with coconut beverage, ice and freeze-dried dragon fruit. The drink is then topped with a non-dairy strawberry cold foam and colourful candy sprinkles. We were very skeptical about this drink based on its description, however it was surprisingly delicious. It is creamy and fruity and the strawberry cold foam tastes exactly like strawberry ice cream. This drink is super sweet, so we don’t think it will be an everyday drink. But if you’re looking for a beautiful pink drink, this is the potion for you. Words don’t do justice to how beautiful the shades of pink in this drink are. All we have to say is, “Thank Goodness” we have this drink!
