Chef, mother and entrepreneur at the forefront of Chinese food domination in San Francisco, Kathy Fang is a force to be reckoned with. She’s a trained chef and the co-owner of Fang (along with her father Peter Fang), but there’s so much to know about this dynamic new face in the Food Network Family.
She comes from a restauranteur dynasty
Both Kathy’s father and grandmother operated restaurants in San Francisco. Peter Fang opened House of Nanking in 1988, a local favourite serving Cantonese cuisine. Together, Peter and Kathy own and operate the upscale sister restaurant, Fang.
Kathy is trained in both culinary arts and business
While she grew up in kitchens, Kathy studied operations management and entrepreneurship at the University of Southern California before pursuing her love of cooking at the Le Cordon Blue Culinary School in Los Angeles.
