You know those days when you get home late, it’s around dinner time, you’re hungry, you want to eat something good but you don’t have a ton of energy to cook? This is the recipe to make! It’s a really simple marinade that combines salty, sweet, sour and earthy flavours and comes together in two minutes. We do recommend marinating the salmon for 15 minutes, but if you are short on time, this dish will still turn out beautifully if you skip this step. A quick trip to the broiler and in 10 minutes you have deeply flavourful salmon. Pair with a quick ribboned carrot salad and white rice, if you like.

In a bowl, whisk together the garlic, ginger, soy sauce, maple syrup, lime juice, and sesame oil.
You can add 2 teaspoons of chili crisp into the marinade, if you desire, and reserve the rest for garnish. If your spice tolerance is lower, simply drizzle 1-2 teaspoons of chili crisp onto the fish once it’s cooked.
Place the salmon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or in an oven-safe rectangular casserole dish. Season with salt and pepper, then pour the marinade over. Place in the fridge for 15 minutes. You can skip this step if you don’t have time, but if you do, we recommend it!
Preheat broiler. Place the salmon in the oven in a middle-top rack, not too close to the element so the parchment paper doesn’t burn. Broil for 10 minutes, until fully cooked through.
Drizzle with chili crisp, to taste.
