Bread and butter is a classic combination that will never go out of style — it’s a marriage of savoury and creamy that’s homey and hearty. Now, imagine this perfect couple took a sweet honeymoon to a decadent destination. The inspo for this dish comes from creator @thechefmine, who made a delicious honey butter toast — naturally, we had to try this for ourselves. Our recipe uses a honey butter spread, pillowy orange blossom whipped cream, and is topped off with a touch of maple syrup. Is it breakfast? Is it dessert? You can be the judge of that.

directions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
On a cutting board, trim the crust off the brioche slices then set aside.
In a small bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, honey and salt until smooth.
With a small butter knife, spread all sides of each brioche slice with the honey butter spread. Place on a parchment-lined baking tray and place in the oven for 10 minutes.
Remove from the oven and flip each slice. Place in the oven for an additional 8-10 minutes until golden. Remove and set aside to cool slightly.
Meanwhile, make the orange blossom whipped cream. In a small bowl, with a hand blender whisk together heavy cream, icing sugar and orange blossom water until stiff peaks have formed.
Serve honey butter toast with whipped cream and maple syrup to taste.
