Sesame Soy Mayonnaise

cup (60 mL) light mayonnaise

Tbsp (15 mL) sodium-reduced soy sauce

tsp (10 mL) fresh ginger, grated

tsp (2 mL) sesame oil
Burgers

egg
1
green onion, finely chopped

cup (150 mL) kimchi, drained and finely chopped

cup (60 mL) panko breadcrumbs

tsp (5 mL) dry mustard

tsp (2 mL) salt

lb(s) (500 g) lean ground pork

deli-thin slices Gouda cheese (optional)

burger buns, split and toasted
lettuce leaves, for garnish
tomato slices, for garnish
red onion slices, for garnish

Step 1
In small bowl, stir together mayonnaise, soy sauce, ginger and sesame oil until smooth and fully combined.
Step 2
In bowl, beat egg; mix in green onion, kimchi, panko, mustard and salt. Mix in pork and shape into four ¾-inch (2 cm) thick patties.
Step 3
Place on greased grill over medium-high heat; cook, turning once, for 10 to 12 minutes or until no longer pink inside. Top with cheese, if using.
Step 4
Top burgers with Sesame Soy Mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato and onion between buns.
