Preheat oven to 425°F.
Using a nonstick muffin tray, place 4 to 5 tater tots on each cup.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove and, using a pestle or a small cup, press down on the tater tots to create a small cup-like shape.
Top with cheese and place back in the oven for an additional 12 to 13 minutes or until golden and crispy.
In the meantime, cook ground beef in a small skillet. Once no longer pink, add 1 cup cheddar cheese and stir till combined.
Remove the cheesy tater tot cups from the oven. Top with the ground beef mixture, lettuce, special sauce and pickles.
Serve immediately.
